Wander Prevention
Risk of elopement continues to be one of the greatest challenges for senior living operators. Vigil offers wander prevention systems to help provide a safe and secure environment for residents. These systems can be used to set a protected area around doors or elevators to alert staff when a resident is attempting to leave the safe area. Resident worn devices are used to notify staff through the Vigil System and may also lock doors or stop elevators from moving when a resident wearing a tag is present.
Fall Monitoring
Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for older Americans. Vigil offers wireless or hardwired bed sensor outlets for the connection of bed or chair sensors. The sensors detect when a resident is getting out of bed, or off a chair, so that staff may be alerted before falls happen. Wireless Sensor Outlets may be attached to a bed, chair, or wheelchair and send silent notifications to staff when activated so that residents aren’t startled by loud alarms. The silent nature also means that residents aren’t inclined to interfere with the devices.
Door Monitoring
Door Monitoring is available for internal and external doors. Wireless or hardwired door contacts send signals to the Vigil System to alert when a door is opened during specified times of day. Integration to delayed egress systems allow staff to be notified when a door goes into alarm even if they are not within the immediate vicinity of the audible alarm.
Smoke Detector Monitoring
The Vigil System may be tied into relays from the smoke detectors in resident rooms so that staff may be notified if a detector goes into alarm. The alarm details including the exact room location are sent to staff notification devices saving critical time in an emergency situation.
Temperature Monitoring
Vigil Vitality System devices are equipped with ambient temperature sensors meaning you can turn any nurse call station into a temperature monitoring device. If the station detects a temperature outside the safe zone, a call is raised on the Vigil System. This allows unsafe temperatures to be remedied, and for longer term trends in temperature to be plotted.
Flood Detection
Wet areas such as spas or resident bathrooms are often susceptible to water damage if a spill or leak goes unnoticed. The Vigil Flood Detector is a small wireless device that detects high water levels and alerts staff wherever they are in the building. With stand alone wet sensors you would have to be close enough to hear the audible alarm in order to be alerted.
